About the Position: This position is located at Robins Air Force Base, GA.

Duties

Plan and coordinates all work requirements to maintain patient care buildings. Inspect maintenance projects or service contractor performance for compliance with statements of work or other agreements for such work. Prepare performance work statements (PWS), identifies deficient service contract or civil engineer performance, assesses operational impacts, and initiates timely corrective action. Attend staff meetings to keep informed of hospital policies and activities and to provide information on facility operation and maintenance activities. Conduct fire and safety inspections and evaluates information with appropriate fire and safety guidelines for medical facilities. Coordinate with other base organizations and various federal state and local officials to evaluate policies, procedures, and actual maintenance and repair activities and makes changes necessary for improvement.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • You must possess or be able to obtain (within 30 days) and maintain (for duration of employment) a valid state driver's license.
  • A pre-employment physical examination is required.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required..
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) travel is 5% for in performance of duties and/or training
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Must be able to wear protective clothing and equipment such as hard hats, eye and hearing protection, high visibility vests, gloves, long sleeve shirts, durable pants, reinforced safety boots and fall protection harness.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work on-call, holidays and/or weekends.
  • This position requires immunizations screenings - Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis. You may be required to show proof of other immunizations.

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: [insert applicable field(s) of study]. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Facilities InspectionFacilities Operations and MaintenanceFacilities Procurement and Contract ManagementFacilities Reporting and Record-Keeping Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
