Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Center of Excellence and Expertise (CEE), Agriculture and Prepared Products located in Miami, FL.

Duties

As a Center Director you will be responsible for ensuring that the Center develops and maintains its industry expertise and provides assistance related to financial matters, commodity issues, industry analysis, enforcement actions, paralegal activities, and account management. This position starts at a salary of $153,088.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $191,900.00 (GS-15, Step 10). Major duties for this position include but are not limited to: Managing organizational changes and directing the oversight of operational and tactical trade responsibilities within a Center. Interpreting the laws and regulations of a broad range of Federal, state and local agencies to sustain a secure import process focusing on national priority trade issues such as intellectual property rights, revenue, and health and safety violations. Assigning and evaluating work based on priorities, level of difficulty, and capabilities of employees. Maintaining budget for Center operations and prepares required budget activity reports.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Supervising, that includes substantial coordination and integration of a number of major work assignments, projects, or program segments of professional, scientific, technical, or administrative work is preferred. Developing of national policy and processing strategic goals and objectives. Directing, planning and execution of assignments, projects, studies, or investigations intended to explore and resolve major operational and law enforcement problems, or to develop, improve, or install new procedures.
