This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration in Transmission Technology Services (TT), Transmission Services (T). A successful candidate in the IT Specialist (INFOSEC) position will serve as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) providing technical ownership, leadership and expertise for the development and implementation of BPA cyber security requirements applicable to the systems that TT manages.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT: You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four (4) competencies listed below. The experience must be IT related and may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification) as appropriate. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [GS-12] in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience in conducting 1) technical risk and vulnerability assessments of information technology systems, networks, and organizational data to recommend new policies, procedures, or processes to address vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs, and 2) system security evaluations, audits, and reviews to ensure compliance with Federal security regulatory requirements. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
