Duties

WHAT IS THE TAXPAYER SERVICESDIVISION? A description of the business units can be found at: https://www.jobs.irs.gov/about/who/business-divisions Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas: Taxpayer Services Customer Assistance, Relationship and Education: Media & Publications The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. Meets with top-level managers and executives within the Service to define the overall goals and objectives of the project. Prepares action plans and schedules for various phases of project accomplishment, both short and long-range; ensures that plans are consistent with Departmental and Service goals, schedules, and policies. Prepares recommendation for personnel and budget requirements to accomplish the project; negotiates with managers of various components of the Service to obtain needed resources and support. Plans, coordinates, and establishes operating methods and procedures for accomplishment of project mission; as needed, directs the development and accomplishment of employee training relating to the project.

Qualifications

Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement: QUALIIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: GS-15 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To be eligible for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (14) in the Federal Government. Specialized experience that is related to the work of this position and has provided you with the competencies required for successful job performance. Qualifying experience includes experience as an expert Analyst, who is responsible for accomplishing major analytical studies and/or projects relating to substantive, mission-oriented programs dealing with strategic tax administration; Experience in preparing action plans, responses, and schedules for all phases of audits, both short and long-range. Comprehensive experience with complex audit processes; extensive experience with collection and/or tax law and technical practices; proficiency in Microsoft office programs, particularly PowerPoint and Microsoft excel.
