About the Position: This position is located at Clinical Operations, Defense Health Network - Central Office, San Antonio, TX. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Duties

Participate in crisis action planning in response to DHA involvement in contingency situations within the Networks. Approve subordinate travel and monitors directorate travel budget. Interpret regulations and guidance and examines local procedures and practices to ensure compliance with all standards. Ensure that adequate internal control systems are developed and operative so that government resources are efficiently and effectively managed. Assign, direct, and coordinate the work of staff members of the Current Operations Branch. Supervise government civilians and military personnel in their functional areas.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
