About the Position: This position is located with the US Army Material Command, Print and Media Distribution Center in ST. Louis, Missouri.
Duties
Perform a wide range of tasks, including receiving, storing, selecting, picking, packing, labeling, sealing, transporting, and distribution of general, specialized, and unclassified materials.
Verify and reconcile receipt document information to physical material and sign for and obtain signatures as required.
Separate material based on material information, condition, quantity, characteristics, type of transaction (pallets, cartons, parcels), and internal processing requirements.
Reconcile, compare, and verify storage location information with storage documentation and instructions.
Verify, count, and reconcile material order information and physical data elements.
Conduct detailed formal and informal location and material inventories for a multitude of locations and a multitude of location types (bulk pallet, multi-carton, and loose).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Must obtain/maintain appropriate operator license and/or certification for various Material Handler Equipment (MHE) used to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Handler (Forklift Operator) without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Materials Handler (Forklift Operator) duties. I can operate a forklift; work with computer systems to process warehouse tasks such as receiving, picking, packing, and shipping; receive goods into the warehouse; and process and complete inventory tasks; I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Work is performed on hard surfaces and in areas that require standing, bending, stooping, and working in uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries supplies, materials, and equipment that weigh up to 40 pounds, and occasionally heavier with the assistance of a coworker.
Working Conditions: Work is performed inside a general warehouse environment, containing a secured work area, and which contains multiple large overhead doors and multiple docks. Work areas are exposed the outside elements and, as such, may be hot, cold, damp, drafty, or poorly lighted, and the employee is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, falls, or injury from material handling equipment. Position requires the incumbent to wear protective clothing such as safety shoes, harness, and gloves.
