You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

Duties

You will ensure team is instructed on work requirements, sequence, procedures, and deadlines to be met. You will ensure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). You will demonstrate proper work methods. You will check work in progress and when finished to see that instructions/requirements and deadlines are met.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You may be required to work other than normal duty hours, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• You may be required to work at a job site or location other than the permanently assigned location.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Providing journey level trade oversight to Electricians, Air-Conditioning Mechanics, Heating/Boiler Plant Equipment Mechanics, Industrial Equipment Mechanics, Electronics Mechanics, Sheet Metal Mechanics, or Welders; 2) Planning, laying out, and completing installation, modification, and repair of systems; and 3) Interpreting building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering documents, drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals to plan work.
