This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Temp/Term Appointment Authority to Meet Critical Hiring Needs to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to support the Realty Operations and Realty Services Branches of the Real Estate Division and its mission to provide acquisition, management and disposal of real estate for the Civil and Military projects.

Duties

Obtains leases of real property required within the military boundaries of the Seattle District. Coordinates with GSA for lease of Government-controlled space. Conducts standard negotiations for the purchase of real estate of civil and military projects within the military boundaries of the Seattle District. Compiles data to determine comparable rents and ascertain if rent is fair and reasonable.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A valid state driver's license is required, as incumbent is required to drive a Government-owned or leased motor vehicle.
• Within 6 months of assignment, must take the Defensive Driving Course.

Qualifications

** Occupational series (1170) is covered by ACWA at the GS-07 grade level. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing and researching real estate policies, procedures, regulations, and contracts related to federal in-leasing practices; assisting higher graded staff in real estate related tasks such as: developing lease requirements and completing leasing documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
