This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Morale, Welfare and Recreation Program (N92); Fleet and Family Readiness; Commander, Navy Region Hawaii. The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the operation, custody, and maintenance of the Golf Cart Fleet.

Duties

General duties comprise 80% of incumbent's time and include but are not limited to: Responsible for the administration, operation, custody, and maintenance of the Golf Cart Fleet and associated equipment. Work involves weekly/monthly service of golf cart fleets at Regional Golf Properties including troubleshooting, repairing and /or overhauling major components and systems such as electric/gas engines, transmissions, differentials and transaxles, suspensions, related electrical, electronic, hydraulic, fuel, and other assemblies. Tear down, adjust, repair, reassemble, and run operational checks on components of these systems following instructions contained in technical manuals. Orders and maintains parts and tool inventories. Responsible for providing Golf Cart Fleet service to other MWR and Base programs that operate electric or small gas vehicles. This service to include monthly service, repair, troubleshooting and other required repairs. Responsible for estimating and writing complex bids submissions for service to other programs. Supervisory duties will require on average, 20% of the incumbent's time. These duties include hands on technical support, preparing and presenting reports, program specific meetings, and staff centric training. Maintains accounting record for all parts ordered and received. Submits invoices for payment of all monthly service and repair work completed. Responsible for accurate end of month reports; including program revenue total, inventory count and updates, inventory cost of goods, payment of all payables and receivables. Responsible for financial self-sufficiency of the Installation Golf Cart Operations and observes safety, sanitation and hazardous waste disposal rules and requirements of the region and installation. Operates vehicles to test repair and move around facility. Supervisory duties comprise 20% of incumbent's time and include but are not limited to: Directs work to be accomplished by staff, up to three (3) Mechanics (NA 5879-06). Assigns work based on priorities, difficulty and requirements of assignments, and staff capabilities. Conducts annual performance reviews of staff. Participates in section staffing decisions. Ensures staff receives proper training to fulfill requirements of their positions. Addresses potential disciplinary and/or performance issues timely and takes appropriate, corrective action(s) as necessary. Supports Commander, Navy Installations Command's (CNIC) Equal Employment. Incumbent may need to support weekend or off-shift hours as needed.
