Duties

Collect information used to provide comprehensive referral services for research staffs, using bibliographic tools for various collections, catalogs, publications reviews, on-line data bases. Responsible for the collection, preservation, curation, management and migration of ARSOF digital historical data. Implement new strategies on protecting, storing, and distributing data within the organization in support of the broader archival preservation program. Provide the technical expertise to meet the requirements for the digitization of historically significant documents, photographs, videos, and oral history interviews and preserving them in a manner consistent with modern digital archival principles.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance with access to Secret Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • This is a drug testing designated position. In accordance with AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, the incumbent must successfully pass a urinalysis screening prior to the appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • A satisfactory deployable medical examination is required prior to assignment into the position.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
  • This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
  • Incumbent may be issued a sidearm for their personal self-defense during times of deployment.
  • Incumbent will be required to qualify at the weapons range alongside military counterparts and will participate in weapons training.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
