THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a T5 Workplace Violence Prevention Specialist, Position Description Number T0033P01 and is part of the SC J11, South Carolina National Guard.
Duties

This position is located at the State, Territory, or DC (S/T/DC) Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) reporting to the Primary Prevention Officer. The primary purpose of this position is to directly support the development and execution of policies, programs, and procedures to implement integrated primary prevention strategies and plans which impact or relate to the primary prevention of workplace harassment and the development of healthy workplace climates and cultures (i.e., bullying, hazing, reprisal and retaliation/ maintaining and fostering unit cohesion, morale, fairness, and connectedness). Identifies risk and protective factors that lead to or protect against unhealthy or unsafe behaviors. Promote or mitigate actions relating to environmental exposure. Due to the specialty nature of these roles this position reports to the Primary Prevention Officer.

Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): This is a Title 5 "Excepted Service " position under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)", and is open to US citizens interested in helping the Department of the Army meet our mission requirements.
This position is open to Area 2 Only. Please note that applicants outside of these categories may not be considered.
Area 1: Current employees (Tenure 1 and 2 / internal to the Agency)
Area 2: All other applicants (external to the Agency)
*Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences.
Or
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences.
Or
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources. Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:
1. The incumbent of this position description must have, at a minimum, a completed National Agency.
2. Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.
3. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
