This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in the Computer Aided Design (CAD) Support team of Asset Management & Engineering Applications (JLST), Information Technology (J), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).
Position will serve as an IT specialist performing assignments in Systems Administration and Systems Analysis and plan out complex assignments on a regular and recurring basis with clients who use the ProjectWise environment in maintain engineering managed content.
Duties
As a IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS/SYSADMIN), you will:
Plan and coordinate the installation of new Bentley products or equipment, e.g., servers, applications and application configurations including ProjectWise. Works closely with customers to ensure seamless implementation. Resolves installation and configuration problems. Identifies and mitigates security vulnerabilities and risks within the client data ProjectWise Environment and participates in the maintenance of server and application integrity and availability.
Work with others to optimize the functionality of the ProjectWise system. Collaborates with other application administrators, and Lead Client Users, on systems performance and makes recommendations for reallocating resources as they become available and recommends additional components or configuration changes to improve overall systems performance.
Monitor systems performance data and makes appropriate systems tuning adjustments to optimize performance and correct and prevent problems including liaison activities with clients to schedule and or limit actions affecting performance in the ProjectWise environment.
Develops requirements and specifications and practices in the ProjectWise Environment that meet business requirements.
Consult with customers to refine functional requirements and translates functional requirements into design specifications for ProjectWise. Work with subordinates on user guide development and end user training.
Advise on the merits of proposed system changes. Evaluates the feasibility of proposed new systems or configuration changes and the post implementation actions necessary to maintain the application's expected performance in the Production ProjectWise Environment.
Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. To meet this requirement you must demonstrate proficiency in each of the four competencies listed above as follows:
GS-13: Advanced - You can perform the actions associated with each of these competencies without assistance. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: 1) Performing server and application administration capacities in support of new and existing applications: (2) Independently support, maintain, perform upgrades, configuration changes and integrate existing applications for ProjectWise and other Bentley Systems applications. (3) Modifying, adapting, and implementing broad IT guidelines to resolve issues, problems and security concerns that result in new policies and procedures for ProjectWise and other Bentley applications . (4) Installing, testing, troubleshooting, configuring and maintaining server hardware and software. (5) Coordinating projects that involve multiple stages in the systems development life cycle management process, including systems analysis, software development, data base administration, application configuration, testing and customer support for ProjectWise or other Bentley Systems applications.
