This position is in Region 6, Land, Chemicals, and Redevelopment Division. Qualifications

NOTE:  You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for the GS-09 level, you must have one of the following: 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level defined as reviewing grants, cooperative agreement, and/or interagency agreement activities (initiation, administration, and/or close-out) for accuracy and completeness; working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders on ad hoc teams; and communicating established policy and procedural guidelines to state, local and tribal agencies; master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related; the education must provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position; or equivalent combination of education and experience To qualify for the GS-11 level, you must have one of the following: 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level defined as serving as a technical/programmatic specialist in providing advice and assistance to state, local and/or tribal governments and non-profits by reviewing grants, cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements for accuracy and completeness; Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related; the education must provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position; or equivalent combination of education and experience Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations, principles, practices, and methods relating to environmental protection programs. Knowledge of federal grants, cooperative agreements and interagency agreements regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to interpret federal grants and cooperative agreement regulations and guidelines sufficient to provide technical guidance to internal and program staff and external stakeholders. Skill in project management. Skill in oral communication. Skill in written communication. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
