This position is located in the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Office of Law Enforcement (OLE), with one vacancy in Seattle, WA.

Duties
As an Enforcement Technician, you will perform the following duties:
Provides support to sworn personnel with investigations, evidence, reports and process prosecution cases and input information into the Office of Law Enforcement's Case Management System.
Communicate with observers and observer program staff to provide observer support and compliance data quality control measures during observer training, deployment, and debriefing. Support observer program staff and returning observers to ensure that the Division's established compliance data collection procedures are properly followed. Create a record of each observer's compliance statement(s) and collection methodologies.
Utilizes the Office of Law Enforcement's case management system to enter investigative data, use analytical reports, and compile information for agents and officers for use in investigations.
These duties are described at the full performance level of the ZS-5; the ZS-4 is developmental leading to such performance.
Qualifications

EDUCATION: There is no positive education requirement for this position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: Experience in collecting and processing data and biological information from fisheries, as a fisheries observer at-sea aboard commercial fishing vessels.
To qualify at the ZS-4 (GS 7/8) level:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZS-3 (GS-6) in the Federal service.
Assisting agents or officers with inputting investigative information into databases; and
Utilizing the case management system to prepare investigative reports for agents or officers.
To qualify at the ZS-5 (GS-9/10) level:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZS-4 (GS-8) in the Federal service.
Assisting in preparing investigative cases by scanning, copying, and filing;
Inputting investigative data information into the case management system; and
Completing inquiries for pertinent investigative information and criminal histories through law enforcement case management system or other databases.
