This position is located in the Small Business Administration, GCBD-Area 6-SanFrancisco. This position ensures that
small business concerns obtain a fair share of contracts, commodities and real and/or personal property handled by the federal government.
Duties
Duty Stations: The salary range indicated in this announcement reflcts the minimum locality pay up to maximum locality pay for all duty stations listed. The range will be adjusted for the selected duty station. General Schedule locality pay tables may be found under OPM Salary & Wages.
As an Industrial Specialist, GS-1150-12/13, you will be responsible for:
Monitoring federal timber sale programs in assigned market areas and develops small business timber sale programs to ensure that small businesses receive their fair share. Providing periodic review and adjustment of the timber sales program.
Maintaining and analyzing current records of timber sales plans, timber offerings and timber sale bids and awards for all federal agencies selling timber. Dealing directly with U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management representatives to accomplish program goals.
Analyzing each sale in terms of location, size, character of timber, topography, accessibility, contractual forest management requirements, access road construction requirements, community stability implications and market area competition to assure each sale can meet the needs of small businesses and that small businesses are capable of each sale.
Providing periodic review and adjustment of the timber sales program. Maintains and analyzes records of timber sales.
Providing a primary SBA point of contact and facilitates communication between the forest products industry (i.e., owners, operators, trade associations) to determine program effectiveness and/or need for change.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen.
- You must successfully complete a background investigation.
- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience for GS-12: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector:
Experience in executing a government timber sales program; and
Experience in analyzing or evaluating the effectiveness of a government timber sales program and developing innovative solutions and strategies for solving problems identified in such analyses.
All of these qualifications must be clearly referenced in your resume.
Specialized Experience for GS-13: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector:
Experience in executing a government timber sales program; and
Experience in analyzing or evaluating the effectiveness of a government timber sales program and developing innovative solutions and strategies for solving problems identified in such analyses.
