Qualifications

Skills and Knowledge:Prior experience as a Bartender and/or server. Positive attitude and excellent communication skillsAbility to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean. Ability to demonstrate high levels of attention to detail. Ability to mix and serve a wide variety of beverages by combining ingredients such as liquors, soda, water, sugar, bitters, and fruit garnishes. Serves liqueur, beer, and wine, and is skillful in mixing such beverages as a Pina Colada, Margarita, Green Tea Shot, Old Fashioned’s, etc. Basic knowledge of alcohol types and brands, as well as familiarity with IPA’s and current trends are a plus. Skill to completely set-up a bar and to recognize impending shortages of supplies based on the volume of business and insure their timely replacement. Ability to collect tabs,  chits or cash in appropriate amounts and is accountable for cash and inventory for the period worked. Ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed.Responsibility: Receives instructions concerning the proper operation of the bar either orally or in writing from the manager and is held responsible for the proper operation of the limited service bar.          Physical Effort:Must walk or stand for prolonged periods of time.  Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance.Working Conditions:  Work is normally performed inside with adequate light, heat and fresh air.  Incumbents are exposed to the possibility of chapped hands, bruises, and cuts.
