About the Position:
This position is located in the Army Research Laboratory (ARL), Office of the Director, Special Programs Office in Adelphi, Maryland (MD). Army Research Laboratory is part of the Laboratory Demonstration Project. The position is in pay band DJ-04, Category I, GS-14 equivalent.
This is a planned management action.
Duties
Serves as a Supervisory Security Specialist expert, advisor and authority in a specialty field such as the law, procurement, or similar business program carried out at the laboratory.
Serves as a supervisor responsible for managing the administrative and/or technical work of the organization.
Responsible for overseeing projects and programs, identifying and shaping the goals of the
organization, making decisions on work problems and administrative proposals.
Develops technology-specific program security classification guides based on incumbents technical knowledge within the applicable technology areas.
Develops and implements detailed security policies and procedures for SPO and other Army programs based on the interpretation or all pertinent regulatory guidance.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Administering special access program (SAP) security guidance by directly supporting an ARMY SAP Special Programs Office (SPO); (2) Executing DoD special access program (SAP) and ARMY special access program security policies and procedures; (3) Providing leadership guidance to include assigning work, evaluation support, direction, and/or training to junior SAP security personnel and other cleared personnel; and (4) Accredits special access program (SAP) facilities in accordance with intelligence community directive, guidelines and procedures.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (DJ-03/GS11).
