You will serve as a OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST in the Marine Corps Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Office (MCMSO) of MARINE CORPS COMBAT DEVELOPMENT CMD.
Duties
You will be responsible for developing Marine Corps policy and/or participating in formulation of DoD, Joint, and DON policy and guidance for modeling and simulation (M and S) resources and applications to include drafting new policy/guidance.
You will be responsible for conducting all staffing actions to gain leadership approval of new policy/guidance, and supporting the implementation of new policy/guidance.
You will Lead reviews and analysis of existing and proposed M and S technical standards.
You will be developing courses of action, establishing milestones and coordinating multiple perspectives in policy formulation, as well as leading reviews of technical standards, architectures, and emerging M and S technologies.
You will analyze existing Modeling and Simulation academic curriculum, identify needed changes, and implement actions as necessary to support Modeling and Simulation officer development.

- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- The incumbent may spend up to 5% of their time on Temporary Additional Duty (TAD), traveling in order to support M and S research. This travel may occur over weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialist experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: participating as a member of a study team or analytical effort, with responsibility for defining the problem, formulating the overall approach, and evaluating the finding AND demonstrating independence and technical authority to perform expected analysis and policy advocacy for organizational modeling & simulation.

Education

Degree: in operations research.
OR
At least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
