The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Logistics Management Specialist performing logistics management work that involves planning, coordinating, or evaluating the logistical actions required to support a specified mission, weapons system, or other designated program. Duties

Develops and maintains the logistics annexes for a wide variety of operational and exercise plans generated locally or at higher headquarters. Plans, administers, and monitors manpower authorizations and personnel resources and logistical requirements. Manages the logistics aspects of the mobility program for the Operations Group (OG). Plans and carries out logistics projects of a procedural or conventional nature to improve efficiency and productivity of the OG and employees in administrative support activities. Maintains and manages the 305th OG's weapon account. Ensures accurate weapon accountability by accomplishing bi-annual inspections of all weapons. Represents the 305 OG on teams, panels, committees, working groups, or in discussions and meetings.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions for Logistics Management Series, 0346. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of logistics management, mobility and war readiness concepts, methodology, requirements, and operating principles and how they apply to the organization and the mission. Knowledge and skill in the areas of organization missions, functions, work procedures, management, manpower, financial management, and other related areas. Practical knowledge of aircraft operations, policies, and concepts. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and procedures and skill in evaluating logistics program operations. Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and precedents affecting deployment operations. Knowledge of logistics management administrative processes and documentation requirements to ensure deployment readiness. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of program related issues and problems. Knowledge of automated data processing concepts and logistics systems capabilities to accomplish logistics functions and the skill in operating a computer to maintain accurate data bases and prepare reports and briefing materials. Knowledge and ability to compile and analyze data concerning budget, Reserve manday funds, deployments, manning status, and other pertinent management data. Knowledge of combat arms weapons, facilities management, including maintenance, cleaning, munitions buildings, and weapons vaults to always identify correctly combat weapons, ability to handle and clean safely at all times all types of combat weapons and to manage the process of check out, lock & seal, and deliver safely weapons between the installation Armory to the aircrew issue/collection point. OR EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit copies of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit copies of your transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of logistics management mobility and war readiness concepts, methodology, requirements, and operating principles and bow they apply to the organization and the mission. Knowledge of operational plans; manning, management methods, organizational practices, deployment concepts and techniques to apply analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature. Knowledge of logistics management administrative processes and documentation requirements to ensure deployment readiness. Knowledge and skill to gather, assemble, analyze, devise solutions to problem, identify changes and trends, and compose information for reports. Knowledge and skill in the application of Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force (AF) management engineering principles, concepts, methodologies, directives, procedures, guidance, and policies pertaining to deployments. Knowledge of automated data processing concepts and logistics systems capabilities to accomplish logistics functions and the skill and ability in operating a computer to also use office automation tools and techniques to design and generate reports, briefing materials, and/or comparable documents, and access or locate information through the use of a personal computer or terminal. Ability to meet and deal with personnel inside and outside the organization using a high degree of tact and diplomacy. Ability to communicate in writing and orally; follow instructions; perform basic arithmetic calculations; and conduct interviews to obtain information concerning missions, functions, and work procedures. Knowledge of combat arms weapons, facilities management, including maintenance, cleaning, munitions buildings, and weapons vaults and to always identify correctly combat weapons, ability to handle and clean safely at all times all types of combat weapons and to manage the process of check out, lock & seal, and deliver safely weapons between the installation Armory to the aircrew issue/collection point. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
