About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. You may need to complete a 3 year probationary period, if applicable. This position is with 7th Signal Command, 21st Signal Brigade, 114th Signal Battalion, located at Adams County, Pennsylvania.

Duties

Provide software engineering support for applications. Provide post development customer support for applications, serving as a point of contact to address various issues such as augmentation, maintenance, and problem resolution. Develop software programs, assures optimum equipment utilization, achieves functional goals, and enhances program maintenance. Ensure that all recommendations for hardware and software requirements are cost effective and efficient. Perform formalized application analysis and assessments in customer organizations, to provide increased effectiveness of the customer in performing their mission. Analyze and evaluates workplace automation requirements for integration into a Remedy based business system. Develop recommendations for Web-based application development to satisfy customer requirements, utilizing formalized life cycle design methodologies. Search and maintain liaison with manufacturers, professional organizations, and counterparts at other activities regarding available hardware/software products and state-of-the-art technologies and techniques.

Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, bachelor's degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
