This position is a Administrative Support Assistant, GS- 0303-6/7 working in either Bayamon, Puerto Rico or Boqueron, Puerto Rico for the R4-Caribbean Ecological Services Field Office.

Duties
As a Administrative Support Assistant your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Provide administrative support within the US Fish and Wildlife Programs in the U.S. Caribbean (Puerto Rico and USVI), helping to build capacity on conservation delivery to achieve the vision of the Southeast Region.
Provide support on the development of field level budget estimates, justifications, and all financial activities for multiple accounts.
Assist with preparation of reports associated with property, training, vehicle use, energy equipment, safety, travel, and various other special reports as requested.
Provide support to maintain and review financial documents, verifying accuracy and approving expenditures, and assist in the preparation pertinent forms to support on the acquisition of supplies, equipment, and construction to meet Field Office needs.
Provide support to a bilingual staff in the U.S. Caribbean. Thus, the incumbent must be fluent in spoken and written English and Spanish.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualifications.
Minimum Qualification [GS-06]
Possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience includes: (1) Assisting in reviewing, compiling, developing, and preparing budget cost estimates and justifications to support the programs and activities of an organization; (2) determining appropriate source to procure supplies, equipment, or services for an organization in accordance with regulations; and (3) providing organizational support services such as timekeeping, travel arrangements, and troubleshooting related problems.
Minimum Qualification [GS-07]
Possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service. Experience includes: (1) reviewing organizational funds or financial data to ensure accuracy; (2) preparing and ensuring accuracy of time and attendance reports through an electronic time and attendance system; (3) procuring supplies, equipment, or services in accordance with regulations governing the type of purchase; (4) preparing oral briefings or written reports for management on financial or administrative matters; (5) providing organizational support services (e.g., preparing forms, documents, and correspondence; responding to procedural questions from the public); (6) providing support on the development of field level budget estimates, justifications; (7) providing support to maintain and review financial documents, verifying accuracy and approving expenditures.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time In Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet both eligibility and qualification requirements for the position of interest by the closing date of the JOA. Specifically,

Public Land Corps (PLC) Hiring Authority: Served as a qualified youth on an appropriate conservation project completing a minimum of 640 hours of satisfactory service that included at least 120 hours through the PLC and received a certificate of non-competitive eligibility.
