You will serve as a Facility Operations Specialist in the Facility Management & Sustainment Division, Public Works Directorate of NAVFAC NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will manage an asbestos program. You will coordinate continuous process improvement (CPI) activities to promote efficiency of operations. You will implement preventative and corrective maintenance to keep systems or equipment in satisfactory operating condition. You will provide technical and organizational support for the development and sustainment of asbestos management programs. You will manage funds to support the asbestos management program. You will direct preparation of project estimates and identify funding sources.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting and evaluating asbestos building profiles; 2) Planning, designing, and reviewing asbestos response actions and abatement activities; 3) Developing, recommending, and analyzing operating budgets; 4) Evaluating repair and preventative maintenance methodologies while analyzing facility maintenance metrics; and 5) Developing concepts of operations and business management system processes for facility related asbestos management.
