You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECAILIST as an employee for Commander Undersea Surveillance of NAVAL OCEAN PROCESS FACILITY DAM NECK.

Duties

You will serve as the primary technical advisor to the Communications Officer in all telecommunications matters including installation, evaluation and operation of the Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS) communications architecture. You will perform duties as an Assistant Communications Officer and Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) Manager in the Communications Department chain of command. You will establish and implement mission-essential plans, programs, training requirements and support for special projects and exercises. You will conduct and analyze test results in conjunction with the installation and acceptance of new or modified hardware and software for major broadcast systems. You will be responsible for planning, training and ensuring appropriate equipment and resources are available for all EKMS users and evolutions.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and evaluating telecommunications policies, systems, or services to implement solutions for correcting infrastructure deficiencies, and enhance the proficiency of interagency telecommunications programs.
