About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W6NEAA US ARMY FIRES CENTER OF EXCELLENCE.
There is one position available at this location. This position will be filled at either the GG-09 or GG-11 level.
Duties
Responsible for the administration and enforcement of intelligence-related security programs in accordance with regulations.
Interpret higher-level guidance and promulgates implementing directives and guidance to the G-2 Security Office.
Initiate and conduct preliminary inquiries of potential violations to determine the appropriate preventive measures.
Execute periodic inventories of classified documents, equipment, and miscellaneous sensitive material.
Process requests for Special Access Program (SAP) access and maintains the Army SAP master database and record files for all indoctrinated and debriefed personnel.
Establish and conduct a comprehensive security education program for the organization, which includes formal training classes for all ranks in support of security education and awareness programs.
Determine the adequacy of current investigations and other data collected, evaluates the authenticity, veracity, and pertinence of data to the case at hand, and decides whether an interim security clearance should be granted or denied.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- This position requires completion of the core Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC). *See the Additional Information section for more details.

GG-0080-09 Qualifications
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Experience applying regulatory standards for the protection of controlled unclassified information (CUI), unclassified information, and/or classified information. AND 2) Experience submitting and/or processing personnel security investigations. AND 3) Experience assisting with application of established security policies and/or procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-07).
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled.
OR
A Master's Degree that is closely related to the position. Closely Related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled such as National Security Studies, Political Science, International Relations/Foreign Affairs, Geography, Security Management/Administrations, Criminal Justice, Psychology, History, or Law. OR
A Master's Degree or Law Degree (LLB or JD) that is supplemented by at least 15 semester hours or 22 quarters hours that are closely related to the position. (NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with application).
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (18 semester hours) by 18. AND 3) Experience with the application of established security policies, procedures and practices related to multiple security disciplines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-09).
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled.

A Ph.D or equivalent Degree that is closely related to the position. Closely Related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled such as National Security Studies, Political Science, International Relations/Foreign Affairs, Geography, Security Management/Administrations, Criminal Justice, Psychology, History, or Law.
