The recent graduates program targets individuals who have graduated recently from qualifying educational institutions or programs. Duties

As a participant in the Recent Graduates Program, you will receive both formal and on-the-job training to develop the required knowledge and skill to successfully perform the duties of the position. Participates in or conducts studies/surveys, analyzing findings and making recommendations which support assigned mission. Analyzes staffing data and prepares text in various formats. Prepares charts, graphs, and other visual aids which display program information and support recommendations. Using skills in all phases of document preparation and processing, including use of word processing systems, graphics, electronic mail, and desktop publishing. Serves as an advisor to management on the effectiveness of assigned programs.

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • Current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, will be placed on an Excepted appointment.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. The recent graduates program targets individuals who have graduated recently from qualifying educational institutions or programs. To be eligible, applicants must apply within 2 years of degree or certificate completion, except for veterans precluded from doing so due to their military service obligations, who will have up to 6 years after degree or certificate completion. Successful applicants will be placed in a dynamic, career development program. Who May Be Considered: Individuals who have obtained a qualifying Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional, Doctorate, Vocational or Technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution, within the previous 2 years. OR Individuals who will obtain a qualifying Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional, Doctorate, Vocational or Technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution within 90 days from the date of application. Applicants must provide proof of degree conferral prior to appointment. OR Veterans (as defined in 5 U.S.C. 2108) who were unable to apply within 2 years of obtaining a qualifying Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional, Doctorate, Vocational or Technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution due to their military service obligation. Veterans have a full 2-year eligibility period to apply upon his/her release or discharge from active duty. The eligibility period for veterans must be within 6 years of degree completion. Basic Requirement: This position has a positive education requirement. Applicants must meet the basic educations requirements in order to be found minimally qualified for the position. Qualifying Experience: For the GG-.7, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For the GG-07 position, qualifying experience is defined as experience working independently preparing charts, graphs, and other visual aids, analyzing technical and/or administrative personnel program To qualify at the GG-09, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For the GG-09 position, qualifying experience is defined as experience working independently on continuing assignments or projects that require application of standard well established principles, concepts and techniques. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. Education

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE AT THE GG-07 LEVEL: Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement or 1 academic year of graduate education (or law school, as specified in qualification standards or individual occupational requirements). Superior Academic Achievement: S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE AT THE GG-09 LEVEL: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, or Master's or equivalent graduate degree such as LL.B. or J.D., may be substituted to meet the experience requirement.
