Duties

POSITION OVERVIEW These positions are located in the United States Pretrial Services Office in Tucson or Phoenix, Arizona. The Pretrial Services Technician performs clerical, technical, and administrative support to officers and staff in a wide range of areas, including reception duties, assisting with the intake process, preparing and maintaining case files, data entry and uploading documents to PACTS-ECM, assisting with urinalysis testing and may include overseeing a courtesy out caseload. The work can be fast paced and challenging. All employees assigned to the unit need to be able to work well in a team setting. The United States Pretrial Services Office offers flexible work schedules, work at home opportunities, and flex days.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONSTo qualify for this position, the successful applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalent.Preference may be given to applicants who have:- Court or Legal office experience, and- Bi-lingual Spanish.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreference given to applicants with two years or more of college credits or who have obtained a degree from an accredited college or university.TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES Provide office support and assistance for the administrative functions of the office, which may include any or all of the following duties and responsibilities: - Perform a full range of customer service functions for staff, clients, visitors, and court personnel that come to the office. Gives visitors/callers prompt assistance by answering routine questions and/or referring them to the appropriate party or department. Copy all documents provided by clients for verification purposes. Accurately writes chronological information pertaining to the clients' office visit or phone calls, as well as contacts with AUSA's and defense attorneys for the supervising officer. - Enters clients' names in PACTS-ECM or confirms that the clients signed into the KIOSK. Verifies that clients who are not registered on the KIOSK are signed in, put on the Check-in Waiting list and complete the required contact forms. - Promptly notifies officers when clients come in for their scheduled or unscheduled urinalysis testing. Escort and monitor clients for urinalysis testing following all chain of command rules and office policy and procedures. - Perform data entry functions. Enter supervision and investigative case file and statistical data into automated systems. - Review criminal record checks obtained through local or national law enforcement files. - Assists officers by retrieving docket information, filing correspondence and other mail matter received from clients or other parties. Scans and uploads case related documents for pretrial officers. Works on research and investigative assignments under the direction of supervisors. Complete Pretrial Services Reports for the Court. - Assists administrative staff with their non-supervision and detention caseloads as well as courtesy out caseloads. This requires quarterly compliance updates from the district of supervision and promptly referring any bail modifications or violations to the appropriate officer and supervisor. - Scans and uploads case related documents for pretrial officers. - Performs other duties assigned.
