Duties

You will test, implement, deploy, maintain and administer cyber defense infrastructure hardware and software used to manage network defense service provider resources. You will report on the controls effectiveness for mitigating exposure to identify risks. You will reviews system/network cybersecurity vulnerabilities to validate compliance with USMC and NSA CONOPS, policies, and guidelines, and present findings accordingly. You will develop, create, write/code, test, and maintain new and/or existing computer application, software, or specialized utility program according to technical specifications and functional requirements.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• Requires IA Level III certification within 24 months of assignment. Requires Security+, CISSP, or CEH within 12 months of assignment.
• This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY DEVELOPER, level SENIOR within 12 months of appointment.

Qualifications

Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience at the next lower grade would be demonstrated by: (1) Experience in Cybersecurity/Information Assurance/Information Technology. (2) Integrating information assurance disciplines into the system design, development, integration, and implementation lifecycle. (3) Identifying information protection needs and define system security requirements; designing System Security Architecture; developing detailed Security Designs. This position is within the Work Category-Professional at Work Level-Senior, Series 2210 and Grade GG-13. Education

At a minimum, all CES employees in the Professional Work Category require a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Some groups in this category, however, may have a positive education requirement that cannot be replaced with experience, such as a requirement for a particular type or level of an academic degree.
