This position is for a Traffic Management Specialist with the Office of Logistics and Acquisition Operations, Division of Logistics Services, Transportation Management Branch (TMB) within the Office of the Director, NIH. Duties
Conduct transportation cost studies by analyzing data items and cost per delivery.
Develop recommendations to establish new traffic patterns, consolidate shipments, revise minimum weights, and/or establish new pickup and delivery schedules.
Monitor reports of shipment discrepancies (shortages and damages), late deliveries, and inadequate equipment to detect trends in carrier performance.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for a Traffic Management Specialist, GS-2130 position at the GS-09 level, you must meet one of the following qualification requirements:
A. completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or JD., if related. Degree major must have been in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position;
OR
B. 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Reviewing documents and procedures to ensure compliance to traffic management regulations; assisting in transportation or traffic studies; gathering transportation cost data; and determining the best route for shipments;
OR
C. a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
