ABOUT THE POSITION: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. You may need to complete a 3 year probationary period, if applicable. This position is with 7th Signal Command, 21st Signal Brigade, 302nd Signal Battalion, located at Fort Detrick, Maryland.

Duties

Plan, and organizes all sections of the CSSF, to include the SSSC. Responsible for processing customer requests, documenting transactions, maintaining records, and developing reports of transactions. Establishes and maintains stock records and other documents. Process customer requests for issue via automated data processing equipment. Serve as the Accountable Officer at the Supply Support Activity (SSA). Provide subordinate units with supply management data required in accessing various supply databases. Provide and develops both written and oral communications to establish command policies and defend command positions to subordinate units and higher headquarters. Provide subordinate units with accurate availability and schedules future vehicle usage.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Subject to recall to duty and extended hours of duty to issue parts in emergency situations.
  • This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by managing inventories of equipment or supplies to ensure appropriate records are maintained within the GCSS-A supply system; monitoring requests for supplies and equipment within the organization; utilizing various automated systems to perform acquisition tasks; and developing and implementing guidelines and procedures for dissemination within the organization
