This position is located at the Youth Regional Treatment Center (YRTC). The YRTC provides residential substance abuse and co-occurring behavioral health treatment to eligible American Indian and Alaska Native youth in order to find healthy directions in life. This position performs cook duties to support the Kitchen Services Department in order to provide adequate, acceptable, nutrient, safe meals to residents of the YRTC. The incumbent will report to the Food Service Worker Supervisor.
Duties
Prepares regular and modified/special diet food and meals for patients, employees and guests of the YRTC. The cook plans, prepares, and coordinates the preparation of the entire meal and conforms to the established food standards.
Utilizes standard recipes, follows measuring and preparation instructions. Makes recipes modifications to meet changes in number of servings required and make food more attractive and to improve taste.
Prepares food for diets according to menu. Prepares regular and special modified diets which may include entrees, desserts, vegetables, sauces, salads, and breads.
Cleans and maintain sanitary condition of equipment and work areas, sweeping and mopping floors, washing utensils, tables, refrigerators, and cleaning ovens and ranges.
Performs routine and special cleaning duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning tables, food carts, windows, stoves, sinks, freezers and refrigerators in kitchen and dining room, sorting, stacking and washing dishes, pots and pans.
Qualifications

Time In Grade
