We expect to fill 1 vacancy at this time; however, additional positions may be filled from this announcement if they become available.
Duties
Set up food service counters and steam tables with hot and cold foods. Serve food cafeteria style.
Prepare service stands; set up tables; serve tables; and replenish condiments, silverware, and glassware. Prepare sandwiches and box lunches.
Load dishes in automatic dishwasher and ensure dishes are clean and sanitized. Once clean stack and store the dishes. Perform a variety of duties in maintenance and cleanliness of the work area and dining facility.
Dice, slice, chop and prepare items for salad bar. Basic kitchen food prep.
Perform heavy duty cleaning tasks; sweep and mop; maintain garbage collection areas; and unload and put way supplies.
Requirements

There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, you must be able to demonstrate through experience shown in the resume materials, that you possess the skill level that has equipped you with the particular job elements to successfully perform the duties of Food Service Worker without more than normal supervision.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Physical Demands: Work is strenuous, involving a great deal of standing, walking, bending, crawling, lifting (up to 70 pounds), and climbing.
Work Environment: Work is performed in and around the dining facility. Is regularly exposed to a broad spectrum of temperature extremes i.e., the uncomfortably high temperatures and humidity of the steam and heat from cooking and dishwashing equipment; to the extreme cold temperatures when entering walk-in refrigerators or freezing units. Injuries may occur from sharp tools and equipment, hot appliances, chemicals, steam, and slippery floors. Subject to prolonged periods of standing. Must abide by personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures such as wearing a hairnet or hat and a clean uniform daily. This position requires field work that could last from two to three weeks each time, with multiple occurrences over the course of the field season. Field work occurs in remote locations and employees may be required to sleep in tents.
