This position is located in JACKSONVILLE AREA 4 OFFICE in USDA/Rural Development (RD). It is a developmental position with duties designed to provide training and development to prepare the incumbent for advancement to higher level Loan Specialist positions.

Duties

Reviews and analyzes preapplications, applications and all supporting documents to determine loan or grant eligibility and inputs data into appropriate automated database system. Prepares written loan/grant recommendations and submits to supervisor for review. Provides a wide variety of servicing actions for assigned less difficult loan cases. Works with a program specialist and/or supervisor in the development and implementation of an outreach and marketing program for the servicing area.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. GS-09 level: Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: Basic knowledge in performing loan making and/or loan servicing duties such as regularly examining loan applications, supporting documents, credit reports, and maintaining servicing activities of somewhat complex loans and/or grants. Experience assisting higher level loan specialists by performing assigned portions of financial credit analysis in connection with more complex loans as a way of acquiring training and competency for more difficult loan examining and servicing assignments. OR Masters or equivalent graduate degree. OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LLB or JD if related. Equivalent combination of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level. NOTE: To be considered for this position, you must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements for the GS-1165 series set forth in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards by the closing date of the announcement.
