About the Position: This position is for the Director of Resource Management, Logistics, Facility Management at Fort Cavazos, Texas. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Investigate each project work request or service order; discusses the scope, classifies work, assists in preparation of project cost estimates and contract documentation. Prepare conceptual design and planning documents, and supporting cost estimates for minor construction, repair, and medical equipment site preparation projects. Perform final inspection of completed scheduled (preventive maintenance) and unscheduled facilities operations and maintenance work orders. Coordinate contractor work efforts with staff in the effected areas of the Medical Treatment Facility to minimize disruption to patient treatment activity.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required.
• This position will require the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.

Basic Requirement for Engineering Technician: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the planning of operations and/or maintenance activities; preparing scope, schedule, and/or cost estimates for operations and/or maintenance activities; and aiding in performing final inspection to ensure the quality of work meets required specifications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
