About the Position: This position falls under the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Tidewater Market serving the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia under the Directorate of Administration - Material Management,

Duties

Analyzes, coordinates, and manages the manpower, budget requirements for medical supply operation. Performs continuous strategic planning and evaluation of all medical supply and logistics policies and procedures for operations for twelve Directorates and eight branch medical clinics. Performs continuous quality reviews of these systems to determine the skills, abilities, knowledge, and processes required for efficient and effective operation. Implements, coordinates and manages these processes, developing controls to evaluate effectiveness, including statistical and narrative reports to determine efficiency. Conducts on-site audits of work measurements and methods, procedures, workload, manpower, supply, training and equipment-related processes that requires skill in effective oral interviewing techniques. Prepares outcome in chart and graph form for presentations and/or finding and recommendation reports.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Advise Directorate Management on supply status and budgetary requests. Assist in the development of queries and reviews for logistics and material maintenance management studies, Review and coordinate the successful execution of all events that require medical logistics interaction. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementDecision MakingLeadership Time in Grade Requirement:Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
