This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Information Systems Division (TC), Computer Cyber Team (TQOC).
This position(s) primary purpose is to provide technical support to users at the DEA's Special Operations Division (SOD) located in Chantilly VA.

As a your typical work assignments may include:
Developing software, as well as implement and maintain enterprise scale software applications being utilized throughout the Agency.
Providing technical and functional advisory services to the functional user communities across the organization and other customer bases.
Evaluating, analyzing and selecting the appropriate data management tools, identifies system requirements and implements, tests and provides post-implementation support procedures.
Advising on and implementing the development of data structures and access strategies in alignment with enterprise and mission requirements.
Resolving critical issues affecting the configuration of databases and systems to demonstrate enhanced data management tools to customers and management.

GS-12: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: 1) Assisting in performing pivotal research with regard to on-going data management system initiatives for capturing, cataloging, indexing, and presenting information; 2) Planning for the total database environment including database management systems, data dictionaries, security systems, communication software, and end user software; 3) Assisting in designing and implementing new systems and major enhancements to existing systems; and 4) Assisting in representing the customer support office in planning for the installation and implementation of new systems (e.g., upgrade to a new operating system).
GS-13: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: 1) Performing pivotal research with regard to on-going data management system initiatives for capturing, cataloging, indexing, and presenting information; 2) Resolving critical issues affecting the configuration of databases and systems to demonstrate enhanced data management tools to customers and management; 3) Providing technical advisory services to the functional user communities across the organization and other customer bases; 4) Planning for the total database environment including database management systems, data dictionaries, security systems, communication software, and end user software; and, 5) Designing and implementing new systems and major enhancements to existing systems.
