About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Forces Command, 20th CBRNE Command G2, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005.

Duties

Serves as Intelligence Analyst within the 20th CBRNE Command. Conducts all-source research to analyze Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE)-related intelligence data on current/projected tactics, techniques, and procedures. Conducts liaison to gather information and ensure connectivity with all sources of information to satisfy 20th CBRNE Command Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIR). Performs all-source analysis of information on assigned geographic and functional areas including adversary military, criminal and terrorist information and develops products, assessments, etc. in support of operational and planning requirements.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• A pre-appointment physical examination is required and will be conducted to meet baseline standards and screen for deployment limiting medical conditions IAW DODI 6490.07.
• Annual physical examinations will be required of the incumbent to maintain readiness IAW baseline worldwide standards and deployment limiting conditions established in DODI 6490.07.
• May be required to DEPLOY (world-wide) with assigned/attached units for periods up 365 days, as determined by mission requirements.
• Before any potential deployments, a medical examination to meet theater specific requirements, to include receiving required immunizations for the specific overseas/deployed location will be required.
• All deploying civilians may be expected to wear the appropriate military uniform as determined and directed by the Theater Combatant Commander.
• Employees will be issued military uniforms and standard TA-50 equipment for use, as necessary, for training/deployment requirements.
• May be required to obtain and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
• May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Vehicle driver's license.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, holidays and/or irregular duty hours commensurate with mission requirements.
• May be required to perform temporary duty (TDY) travel 25% or more on an annual basis, based on mission requirements.
• Anthrax inoculation program participation may be required to meet deployability requirements for specific deployed locations.
• May be exposed on a regular and recurring basis to machines and equipment in operation, hazardous materials including compressed gases and flammable liquids, and construction hazards. May frequently work outdoors with temperature extremes.
• Exposure to dust, high noise levels, wind, sand, and environments of fumes and smoke may be encountered. Exposure to elements associated in combat and contingency operations in CONUS and OCONUS locations.
• May be required to wear chemical protective masks and protective clothing for escape purposes only.
• May involve frequent visits and temporary duty at field sites as well as deployment and participation in military exercises in a variety of environments.
• This mandates walking, standing, stooping, bending, carrying and similar movements, as well as agility, stamina, and dexterity.
• During deployment, physical demands may be greatly increased and require extended walking with a rucksack weighing up to 50 lbs. Rations and quarters may be similar to that provided to military personnel.

This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
