As a Construction Control Representative, you will operate as a technical specialist performing construction related duties in support of project managers to support business and workplace needs.Location of position: Office of Facilities Management, Metropolitan Service Center, National Capital Region, Public Buildings ServiceWe are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
Collaborate with customers translating requirements into technical solutions to address customer needs. Perform lifecycle condition analyses and similar assessments to develop project scopes of work.
Review project plans, drawings and specifications analyzing construction methods to determine practicality. Advise on proper construction procedures, including those that incorporate complex design features, unusual building materials and advanced techniques.
Support negotiations on architectural/engineering (A/E) and construction contracts providing cost analyses of design services and construction methods and techniques. Evaluate cost estimates to ensure fairness, reasonability and compliance with scopes of work.
Oversee project activities and resources to ensure proper construction phasing, adherence to schedules and to identify and mitigate risks.

The GS-13 salary range starts at $117,962 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service developing and managing construction or alteration projects. Such experience must demonstrate experience defining requirements with customers; applying construction and cost estimating methods and techniques; contract administration; inspection and acceptance of materials and workmanship; and construction, installation, or repair of various types of systems used in public use buildings (e.g., heating, air conditioning, fire safety, ventilation, plumbing).
