The incumbent functions as the Audiovisual Production Specialist in the Public Affairs Office at the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) located in Tuskegee, Ala. The position is organizationally located and divided between the Tuskegee and Montgomery Campuses. The incumbent will also have to travel to the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). The primary purpose of this position is to provide visual information using various media and serving as a medical photographer.

Duties

Audio Video/Photography: Use theories, principles and processes as applied to photographic and video production enabling the employee to create professional photographic and audiovisual products in the medical setting. Knowledge and skill in the use of various cameras, photographic media, lighting techniques and video production equipment. Uses knowledge of commonly used sources of audiovisual talent and special effects, such as casting lists, music libraries, stock footage, and post-production services, to acquire the elements needed for a completed audiovisual production. Graphics: Use knowledge of commonly used sources of audiovisual talent and special effects, such as casting lists, music libraries, stock footage, and post-production services, to acquire the elements needed for a completed audiovisual production. Videoconferencing: Uses broadband transmission of video and audio data over internet connections to one or more specific IP addresses to multiple audiences. Creates products of commensurate quality for the demanding environment of the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System and affiliates. Use of specialized camera techniques for documentation made in sterile surroundings. Makes the necessary changes to the final visual product based on desired presentation. Plans, research, and designs presentations in collaboration with subject matter experts. Assesses whether there is sufficient subject matter information and identifies possible sources of additional information and material needed. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 4:30pm Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 05/06/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. Education

GS-09: A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related in photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

GS-11: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related in photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
