About the Position: Receives customers and calls to the Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC), and ascertains the nature of the visitor call. Answers from routine to in depth inquiries based on knowledge of the mission, functions,organizational structures, staffing, medical terminology, physical layout and offsite locations of the WAMC.

Receives customers and calls to Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC) and ascertains the nature of the visitor call. Answers from routine to in depth inquiries based on knowledge of the mission, functions, organizational structures, staffing, medical terminology, physical layout and offsite locations of the Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC). Provides paging and emergency notification services for the Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC). Maintains Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC) Staff Roster of both civilians and military. Provides paging and emergency notification services for the Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC). Maintains database of beepers and assigned numbers, coordinates with staff requiring changes or additions, makes appropriate changes, updates when necessary, and produces reports of new changes.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • The services of less than a qualified typist are required.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
  • This position is inclement weather essential.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

(Note: Must provide a copy of transcripts) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Manages and Organizes Information Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-03).
