Duties
You will develop law enforcement approaches and methods of instruction to verify the curriculum meet course objectives.
You will propose career development plans (e.g., training requests, utilization proposals) to enhance career of law enforcement employees.
You will coordinate with other federal law enforcement instructors to develop different approaches and methods of instruction.
You will facilitate classroom studies for law enforcement personnel using instruction techniques or formats (e.g., role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, lectures).

- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must successfully pass an initial, annual, or any required OPM, DoD, or Department of the Navy mental and emotional stability screening, physical agility test, and physical fitness for duty test.
- You must graduate from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with grooming standards.
- You must qualify and maintain all basic patrolman qualification standards, so that in the event of heightened Force Protection Condition or other emergent situation which may require the member to stand a patrolman post.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-08) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Preparing course materials in the field of law enforcement; 2) Providing up-to-date material and information to students; 3) Conducting lectures, discussions, conferences, and demonstrations on law enforcement, investigative techniques, procedures, and practical applications; and 4) Identifying training needs and requirements of each law enforcement student, ensuring training is scheduled and completed. NOTE: This information must be fully supported in your resume.
Must successfully complete a required Police Training Academy or equivalent course, e.g. Navy Police Officer Academy; a federal or military or police academy; or equivalent law enforcement training. Must also successfully complete any annual sustainment training, Level 1 Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) contamination training (if applicable), and OC refresher training. This position does not meet the definition of Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) and is excluded from coverage as LEO for purposes of the Federal Employment Retirement System-Base Annuity in accordance with 5 CFR, Part 842, Subpart H.
