The Background Investigations Directorate is seeking motivated individuals with inquisitive minds to fill the position of Investigative Assistant. This person should be a self-starter who will perform a variety of technical and administrative duties such as: records checks, letter preparation, preparing reports of investigation, and other related tasks under the direction of the Supervisory Investigator.

As an INVESTIGATIVE ASSISTANT you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Telework Eligibility: This position is telework eligible, but is not a full time telework position. The incumbent will be required to report to the office on a routine basis.

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience required for this position is: Specialized experience is described as clerical or technical experience that includes organizing information, maintaining data base records (entering, searching for, retrieving, editing and deleting data) using word processing and basic spreadsheet software reviewing basic documents (employment applications, claims for benefits, loan applications, contracts, or investigative forms) for accuracy and completeness. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Education

If substituting education for experience, at the GG-05 level, you must have successfully completed four years of post-high-school education

Superior Academic Achievement does not apply to DCIPS positions.
