This position is located in the Energetics Manufacturing Department.
Duties
You will provide leadership in support of department programs and initiatives for safety, quality, systems engineering, facility, training, communication, and human resources.
You will provide leadership and direction for technical, administrative, and professional staff.
You will plan, coordinate, manage, and direct work of a large organization comprised of administrative, technical, and professional personnel.
You will lead and direct complex programmatic and administrative functions and their staff in order to provide for their training and development.
You will evaluate Department operations to support Command mission and make improvements.
You will apply knowledge of technical mission requirements and business management concepts to strategic planning and resource allocation, metrics, and process re-engineering within a Working Capital Fund activity.
You will ensure respond to corporate data calls.
You will coordinate response to safety incidents and near-misses.
You will build and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
You will mentor and train subordinates.
You will coordinate visits and tours for the Energetics Manufacturing Department to ensure effective marketing of capabilities.
You will develop and track metrics and controls to properly allocate resources to manage and align energetic manufacturing and support operations.
You will work with the Department Principal for Safety to lead response to emergency situations, including any investigative actions.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-05 pay band (GS-13/14 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing development, scale-up, and full-scale production of energetic materials and items to maintain and develop state of the art facilities for the development, manufacture and evaluation of energetic products.
