Duties

Research regulatory and historical background and develops inspection objectives, methodology, scope and plan and assigns workload to subordinate inspectors. Conduct inspections identifying root causes of issues and recommends corrective actions and action agencies. Develop detailed daily inspection plan determining appropriate staff/personnel to inspect. As an Assistant Inspector General (IG) UP AR 20-1, determines the state of economy, efficiency, discipline, morale, esprit de corps, and readiness throughout the command. Provide objective and impartial assessments of the operational and administrative effectiveness of inspected activities. Receive and process requests for assistance. Research regulatory and historical background and develop inspection objectives, methodology, scope and plan. Assign workload to subordinate inspectors.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes interpreting and applying program inspection rules, regulations, and procedures; planning and conducting confidential investigations and inspections. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Compliance InspectionInformation AnalysisInformation ManagementPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
