Duties

Major Duties of the Position: Position will perform faculty duties in an academic department at the United States Air Force Academy. Will teach and mentor undergraduate students by providing appropriately tailored course materials, conducting engaging classroom activities, and assessing student academic performance and suitability for commissioning. Will participate in professional activities in area of specialization, plan, create, and assist others in course and curriculum development, apply advanced administrative skills in support of the department and faculty-wide missions, and direct teams and committees composed of faculty members. Will demonstrate continued proficiency in and mastery of duties and expectations defined for Assistant Professor while building increased leadership skills, administrative acumen, and enhanced scholarly reputation.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. The incumbent must hold a terminal degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field and have3-5 years of teaching experience at the college level. 2. The position is not tenure-track eligible. 3. This position is not sabbatical eligible. 4. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. 5. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employees must pass initial and periodic short-notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety as required for the position. FOREIGN EDUCATION:
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the educational requirements. However, you must show proof that the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in a conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying in the form of an "official" statement of U.S. equivalency from a Department of Education approved (non-federal) agency (i.e. AICE, NACES), who will complete a U.S. Standard of Education Conversion.
