The position is located in the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Human Resources Directorate (HRD), Personnel Services Division (PSD). The Directorate provides a wide range of consolidated human resources management program functions in direct support of the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD), WHS, and other Defense agencies and field activities. The Directorate manages and directs all activities of classification and recruitment and placement.
Duties
This is a Direct Hire Public Notice for the DoD Direct-Hire Authority for Pathways Recent Graduates.
Recent Graduates will be placed on a career or career-conditional appointment and MUST meet the definition of a recent graduate at the time of appointment OR will complete an advanced degree by June 30, 2024 in order to be appointed under this direct hire authority; OR, Uniformed Service Members who have completed at least four years of obligated service AND was awarded a bachelors or higher degree by an institution of higher education not more than four years before the employment start date.
Recent Graduates conferred transcripts must confirm a degree was obtained no more than two years prior to the date of your appointment or anticipated completion date of NLT June 30, 2024.

Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:
Assisting human resource specialists with position classification requests. Processing a variety of classification personnel actions.
Performing a variety of recruitment and placement support duties. Ensuring the prompt processing of all personnel actions and accurate position documentation in the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) database, USA STAFFING, and ASARS.
Coding and/or entering position data in DCPDS, USA STAFFING, and ASARS.
Preparing and delivering oral presentations such as briefings, training sessions, consultations, and strategy sessions with other staff service functions and activities.
Participating with higher-graded employees in composing handouts and training materials for New Employee Orientation (NEO) sessions and training programs.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment
- This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing
- Required to participate in the direct deposit program

Qualifications
Who May Apply: Positions are open to:
U.S. Citizens who have completed, within the previous two years, a qualifying bachelors or higher degree from a qualifying educational institution; OR will complete an advanced degree by June 30, 2024; OR, Uniformed Service Members who have completed at least four years of obligated service AND was awarded a bachelors or higher degree by an institution of higher education not more than four years before the employment start date.
Applicants can be selected at GS-07 grade level. The target grade of this position is GS-7.

You may qualify at the GS-7 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
Have one year of experience at the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-6) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled. Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience in: 1) Providing technical assistance and administrative support for human resources programs 2) Researching and analyzing information to respond to human resources inquiries; and 3) Experience performing personnel transactions using a variety of automated systems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
