The position serves as a Student Trainee (Human Resources) in the DMA Pathways intern program and is concurrently enrolled at an accredited college/university for the purpose of completing the academic curriculum required for a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources or a closely related field. The Intern program affords a student the opportunity to receive work experience which is directly related to the student's academic program and career goals.
Duties
As a STUDENT TRAINEE (HUMAN RESOURCES) at the GS-0299-3 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Assist staff with research, development, and maintaining metrics on DMA's training requirements.
Assist staff and performs research and tracks metrics related to utilizing DMA's training systems.
Assists staff with tracking metrics related to all civilian and military SF182 requests.
Assists staff with maintaining necessary files and records for all requisitions.
Assists staff with administrative task related DMA's training requirement.
Provides basic customer service, official emails, phone calls and informational intakes concerning the DMA EEO Program. Collects data to identify EEO issues and underlying causes; sets-up follow-up and intake interviews to address problems and/or improve the existing work environment.
Handles a wide range of sensitive and confidential special assignments of great personal interest and concern to the DMEO Director and Lead EEO Counselor.
Manages correspondence, memorandum, policy updates, documentation, and scheduling requests and sets standards for document distribution.
Assist with management surveys, data analytics reviews, and research projects associated with the EEO Program Management Directives-715 organizational administrative functions (accomplishments, effectiveness, and/or compliance with the EEO Commission DoD, DMA and follow-up on component directives and regulations). Assists with the collection of data to identify EEO issues and underlying causes; recommend solutions to address problems and/or improve the existing work environment.

- Must be enrolled in college/university throughout internship
- Must be enrolled as a degree OR degree seeking student in an accredited institution of higher education, at least part time, and remain enrolled for the duration of the internship (proof of enrollment is required with your application package).
- Remain in good academic standing in accordance with Participant Agreement. Failure to do so will result in termination of employment.
- Transcript must state major, earned credit hours, and cumulative GPA of at least a 2.0, and must include school and student identification on them or they will NOT be considered.
- This position is in the excepted service.
- Must submit current and future transcripts as proof of enrollment.
- Selectee will be required to sign pathways agreement.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-03, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
GS-3 Level Qualifications: Successful completion of one academic year of post high school education. (One academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
