About the Position: Participates in the District public affairs programs. Develops and assists in the development of information about mission programs, projects, activities, and accomplishments.

Duties

Plans, develops, and executes the District Public Affairs Office's multi-media, photography and visual information program. Imports video footage into digital processing software to edit and produce quality video products communicating Omaha District's story. Interviews and confers with District program and subject-matter specialists to obtain information and then develops news releases, publications, briefings, and feature articles. Briefs/maintains relationships with news media representatives on programs, projects, and activities and their impact on various public and private interests. Manages the District's Command information programs and assists with public information campaigns through updating web and social media sites.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience for GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience writing and editing news articles and/or press releases; AND 2) Experience with planning, collecting, verifying, and editing digital video; AND 3) Experience developing computer graphics/desktop publishing.
