You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST (PHYSICAL) in the CHIEF OF NAVAL OPERATIONS (CNO) ECHELON III COMMAND of AEGIS COMBATSYSC.
This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-3 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13.
Duties
You will develop and implement accountability for Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) assets, and critical function to meet security needs and requirements for protection.
You will develop and maintain security plans, directives, and posts orders to strengthen overall SCSC facilities readiness.
You will develop, implement, and manage Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) and Operational Security (OPSEC) plans and programs, to include monitoring and taking effective corrective/protective measures.
You will provide direction and advice through writing directives and policies concerning anti-terrorism/force protection program and OPSEC.
You will maintain contacts with other NAVSEA organizations as necessary to satisfy problems or situations that require immediate attention.
You will implement AT/FP and OPSEC surveys, projects and assignments, ensuring adherence to SCSC security policies, and makes recommendations to resolve complex security issues.
You will assess the budgeting and implementation status of key projects, lobbying for funding to insure future effective force protection posture.
You will oversee the commands Force Protection Training Program on threats and protective systems for military, civilian, and contractors while evaluating training needs and requirements based on mission/threat.
You will provide security threat guidance to leadership through evaluation of a variety of escalating resources and data.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- You will be required to complete the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within 24 months of assignment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NH-02 (GS-11) or grade level in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector developing or evaluating physical security programs to determine compliance with Federal regulations and resolve problems impacting safety or security within an organization.
