You will serve as an Electrical Worker in the Production Resources Department of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will install, alter, and repair equipment and components of electrical systems such as light switches, circuit breakers, fuses, relays, and outlets, both in shop and onboard ships. You will repair motors, generators, controllers, interior communication equipment, switches, breakers and other electrical equipment. You will rebuild and repair submarine, forklift, and standard batteries. You will locate broken, worn, damaged, or poorly operating wiring, fixtures, controls, and equipment through visual check or through use of a small variety of test equipment. You will read and follow wiring diagrams that specify where wiring, fixtures, and controls are installed or are to be hooked up.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will perform work in shops and buildings, aboard ships and submarines, and requires pulling, pushing, lifting, turning, crouching, kneeling, bending, standing, climbing, and reaching.
• You will be required to be able to life, carry, and set up installations and equipment weighing up to 60 pounds, and occasionally in excess of 60 pounds.
