About the Position: This position is located in the Madigan Army Medical Center Office of Patient Admin Division, Tacoma, Washington. Duties

You will be responsible for preparing correspondence and summaries of medical records in response to external and internal requests for medical information or records. Research or extract pertinent information from hospital inpatient or outpatient records. Search and gather information on the facts and on the regulatory provisions that apply to the specific circumstances discussed in the incoming correspondence. Receive personal and telephonic inquiries regarding the status of abstracts, medical reports and other information requested. Compose detailed explanations in response to correspondence received, arranging information into logical sequence and appropriate format. Document all telephone and face-to-face contacts to substantiate replies composed. Utilize an automated system such as the schedule, document, record, and track activities within assign area of responsibility.

  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

  • This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
